Sports Coordinator

Requirements

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Sports Coordinator to join our team in a dynamic, student-centered role at the core of our sports and wellness program. This position plays a key role in shaping students’ physical development through structured movement, ensuring that all sports activities reflect the quality, care, and intentionality that define our school.

The role combines curriculum development, program coordination, and hands-on teaching, while ensuring a strong focus on safety, injury prevention, and age-appropriate physical development.

This position requires adaptability, strong judgment, and a proactive mindset to maintain high-quality program delivery, support and align coaching staff, and foster clear, consistent communication with families.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A - Professional Skills

  • Degree or diploma in Sport Science, Education or related field from a recognized institution
  • Working proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Prior work experience in the sports or eduction industry
  • Demonstrated experience in curriculum development, program planning, or structured sports instruction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of injury prevention, mobility, and safe sports practices
  • Strong understanding of child development, physical literacy and age-appropriate training principles

B - Preferred

  • Experience in an international school environment
  • Background in swimming instruction, coaching, or aquatic program management
  • Experience in coach training or team coordination
  • Familiarity with wellness, nutrition, or holistic education programs

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

A - Sports & Swimming Curriculum Development & Assessment

  • Continuously refine, adapt and ensure the effective implementation of the established Swimming Curriculum from Nursery through Middle School.
  • Create assessment checklists and learning indicators comparable to report card measures.

B - Injury Prevention, Mobility & Safety Manual

  • Ensure practices reflect the different physical needs of children across developmental stages.
  • Support design of personalized and individual student mobility programs with support of sports coaches.
  • Establish a sports mobility and injury prevention manual.

C - Teaching & Program Delivery

  • Support swim coach in delivering sports programs.
  • Support onboarding and alignment of coaches or instructors.
  • Plan and facilitate school sports events.
  • Teach Middle School ‘Wellness & Nutrition’ Elective including curriculum planning and delivery.

D - Observation, Planning, Staff Training & Collaboration

  • Observe students’ physical development and participation during sports
  • Collaborate with House teachers to support integrated planning, share observations that inform group learning and align movement goals with broader developmental objectives.
  • Participate in scheduled professional learning meetings.

E - Family Communication & Community Liaison

  • Serve as the primary family-facing contact for sports programs.
  • Manage school communication Sports page.
  • Support school visibility by contributing to wellness related content.
